United States of Leland

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Love this movie, starring Ryan Gosling, Don Cheadle , Kevin Spacey, Jena Malone, Chris Klein and Michelle Williams.
I never pegged Ryan Gosling as that good of an actor, (Okay, so I didnt see THE NOTEBOOK, sue me.) let alone a great one but after seeing this movie and this year’s Oscar nomination he got for "Half Nelson", I am ready to change my mind.

This movie absolutely captivates me, maybe because Leland’s observation of life and the world took me by surprise. I never quite see things the way he did. But everything he said, somehow made sense. I think it’s mostly because of Gosling’s brilliance and stellar portrayal of Leland.

With so many well known names in the movie, I wonder why I didnt know and didnt even hear anything about it until a couple of months ago.

“if you knew today was your last day on earth, how would you want to spend it? ” … the first thing that came to my mind was my parents. go figure.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Valentine’s

Been in chocolate craze in the last few days for no reason. But I’m not
complaining since they seem to put me in a somewhat better mood what
with the whole ice storm ordeal (really. ice storm in texas? seriously?! seriously!!!) and being stuck at home with nothing
much to do. So went to Walmart today and decided to try some of the
"premium" (higher cocoa content) chocolate lines from Lindt and
Ghirardelli. Oh and Dove Dark Chocolates are my favorite right now so
of course have to get a bag of those. And Dark Toblerone is always a
favorite! ;)  Oddly enough though, now I dont feel like eating any of
em right now. I’m all chocolate-d out i guess. LOL.

And
then because a friend "accused" me of lying when I said that I have stuffed
animals so I took pictures of my admittedly few and scarce
"collection". LOL.  So here…introducing HarPot the pink piggie (named
during the times I first got addicted to the Harry Potter series),
umm…havent named the teddy yet as I just got him/her last
month….any ideas? , Thumbekil the baby monkey and Grizwald the bear.

Hmmm….chocolates and teddys……and Valentine is just around the corner….. :)
